What It Is
Microneedling is a popular skin rejuvenation procedure that helps correct numerous skin concerns like loose skin, fine lines and wrinkles, and acne scars. An alternative to chemical peels, microneedling achieves similar results without causing skin to flake and peel. Microneedling works to improve overall skin health by stimulating collagen, which plumps up the skin, and is ideal for treating:
- Large pores
- Fine lines and wrinkles
- Crepey, loose and lax skin
- Skin texture
- Acne scars
- Stretch marks
Microneedling procedures cause tiny, controlled injuries that stimulate the body’s natural wound healing process. The wounds heal themselves, replacing the old skin with younger, tighter skin and an increase in collagen and elastin.

What to Expect
Each microneedling treatment takes approximately 30m to 1h30 to complete. Upon arrival, your aesthetician will discuss your skincare goals with you, as well as evaluate your skin to determine which skincare products and treatments might be best for you.
- Pre-Treatment
3-5 days before your microneedling treatment, stop using exfoliants, acids, bleaching products, and supplements (including fish oils, aspirin, and ibuprofen). Discontinue retinols and tretinoin (Retin-A) at least 12 hours before. Do not wax, undergo chemical peels, or use self-tanners for 2 weeks prior to treatment. Microneedling is not allowed with active acne, cold sores, or open lesions.
- Post-Treatment
Microneedling treatments are non-surgical skincare treatments with minimal downtime. Following your session it’s normal to experience mild redness and swelling, akin to a sunburn, but these symptoms typically subside within a day or two. We recommend avoiding the sun for at least 3 days, as well as minimizing the wear of any substances (makeup, active skincare products, etc).
Why You’ll Love It
The transformative effects of Microneedling are not just theoretical but visible and tangible. Texture becomes smoother, scars diminish, and a radiant, more uniform complexion emerges. Microneedling isn’t just about enhancing skin; it’s about uplifting spirits, boosting confidence, and embracing a version of ourselves that feels truly rejuvenated.
- Shrink Pores
- Minimize Scars
- Improves Skin Texture and Tone
- Reduces Fine Lines and Wrinkles

Recommended Number of Microneedling Treatments
The exact number of treatments can vary depending on your specific skin concerns and goals. For most people, the recommended number of microneedling sessions typically ranges from 3 to 6, with about 4 to 6 weeks between each session.
Deeper acne scars or wrinkles may require additional treatments, so it's best to consult with our estheticians at Brazilliance Spa to create a personalized treatment plan.
When will I see Results?
Microneedling stimulates collagen production and skin renewal, so patience is key.
The results vary from person to person depending on how your skin reacts to the procedure. The first thing you'll notice following the treatment is the skin's instant dewiness, firmness, and plumpness.
Sticking to the recommended number of treatments is essential for achieving the best possible results, as you might not see the effects immediately. You'll see noticeable improvements and significant outcomes around four to six weeks after your final session.
Does Microneedling Hurt?
Microneedling is a procedure that utilizes ultra-fine needles—similar to those used in acupuncture—to create controlled micro-wounds or puncture lesions on the skin. This process stimulates the body’s natural collagen and elastin production.
Pain is subjective, but most people report minimal to mild discomfort during microneedling treatments. Many clients opt to use a numbing cream before treatment to reduce any discomfort. They often describe the procedure as feeling like a gentle prickling or tingling sensation.
